For young people aged 11-13 this October Half Term in Crewe

Crewe Lyceum Theatre are thrilled to be working with local partners as part of Bubble Up, an initiative run by Curious Minds

Bubble Up Crewe is offering free creative and cultural activities to young people age 11-13 in Crewe, open to those who missed out on the usual transition from primary school to secondary school due to lockdown restrictions.

These activities are totally free and are an opportunity to make friends, build your confidence and take part in activities in different venues around Crewe.

Devise & Conquer

Drama & Theatre

Venue: TBC

An exciting new short course for young people who are interested in devising theatre.

Alongside a professional theatre practitioner, you will learn all the basic steps of how to create your own piece of theatre from scratch using the theme of POWER to inspire and create your work. Share and celebrate your creations on the final day!

D.M.P.C Dance intensive

Dance & Movement

Venue: TBC

A three-day Dance intensive with The Lyceum Theatre's very own company in residence, D.M.P.C.

If you love dancing and want to improve your technique, choreography, filming/editing then this is for you! Over the 12 hours of
workshops, you will build confidence, performance skills & ownership over what we create by learning new moves & routines,
choreographic techniques/ styles which will culminate in the creation of a short film.

Young Producers

Producing, Theatre & Event Management

Venue: The Studio, Crewe Lyceum

Join us for a roller coaster adventure of teamwork, skills development, and unexpected surprises!

Choose how you will build your own event or project, work as a team to develop ideas and overcome obstacles to reach success and win the game! Will you put on your own play, plan an exciting festival or create a fun activity for your community? You decide! We are looking for 15 plucky participants to work with the team at Crewe Lyceum Theatre. Read more  

Find out what goes on behind the scenes to make shows and events happen and pitch your own ideas to professionals in the industry. Learn about yourself, your skills, strengths and abilities, overcome adversity and develop your creative problem-solving abilities.

Our Young Producers workshop gives you an opportunity to work alongside Crewe Lyceum Theatre staff and will be the first activity to take place in our theatre since lockdown

Rap & Lyric Workshop

Lyric writing, spoken word and rap

Venue: TBC

Work with rapper/spoken Jamie Lynch and music leader Phill Howley to deliver a creative lyric writing workshop where we will go through a step by step basis of how to develop the necessary rhythm and rhyming skills to create rap/spoken word pieces.

We will also use music production to create our own tracks to accompany the finished raps.

Dates are currently TBC as we work behind the scenes to make our building totally secure, safe and in line with Covid-19 government safety guidelines in preparation. Please ensure you reserve your place and dates will be confirmed with attendees as soon as possible.
