Types of Roles


Providing an innovative dining, drinking and conference facilities with theatrical flair requires a range of talented chefs and friendly servers over a range of levels and employment types.  

Ticket Office

The approachable Ticket Office team provide excellent customer service while proactively selling tickets in this customer-facing role offering fun and flexibility.



Often the hidden function of a theatre, these heroes make the show happen from assisting with the ‘get-in’ to managing the sound and lighting. 



The marketing and promotions teams ensure our customers know about the broad-range of incredible events within the venues' many spaces in this busy but exciting department.


Administration and Management

Off the stage a gifted group of administrators, finance and management teams ensure the venues run smoothly.

Youth Drama Facilitator

Crewe Lyceum Theatre are looking for a freelance drama facilitator to deliver a half term holiday workshop in October half term. You will be working with children age 8-13 to develop their skills in drama and performance, and will potentially form a pilot as part of a new regular Youth Theatre for 2022.

The initial holiday pilot workshop will take place on Friday 29th October at the Crewe Lyceum Theatre. We are inviting applications from individuals who:

  • Have experience delivering high quality drama, theatre or performance projects with young people
  • Are organised and self-motivated
  • Are enthusiastic and creative
  • Have experience directing young people for public performance
  • Possess the ability to progress young people in theatre making skills
  • Have a clean and current DBS and a working knowledge of safeguarding
  • Are interested in potential for regular work with us

Housekeeper[Two positions available]

Contracted for 18 hours over six days per week, the post holder(s) will maintain all areas of the theatre building to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene, creating a welcoming and pleasant environment.

They will work effectively, efficiently and pro-actively as part of a team and take great personal pride in the presentation of a much loved local attraction.

They will also uphold exceptional standards of cleanliness with company policy procedures and expectations and ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with departmental and company Health & Safety procedures.

Customer Experience Assistant [Casual]

This is a hands on, operational role.  The post holder will be expected to deliver a whole range of events and activities held at Crewe Lyceum including shows, conferences and private events.

They will ensure the highest quality in service to meet the great range of requirements of our many clients and visiting companies.  

They will have a particular emphasis on delivering exceptional customer service in a challenging and pressured environment.

Front-Of-House Volunteers


Our volunteer team are the faces of the Lyceum, they provide the welcoming smile and cheery goodbye to all of our patrons and do all they can to enhance the customer experience and provide a top class service.

As a Volunteer Usher, you will assist the Duty Manager in welcoming and dealing with enquiries from all our patrons to ensure the smooth running of the performance. If you are aged 16+ and can offer to help us (ideally for a minimum of 2 shifts per month) and would like to support the Crewe Lyceum by becoming a volunteer usher, we'd love to hear from you!

This can be a physically demanding role as you will form a key part of our evacuation and emergency procedures.

This could be a great first step to give you an insight into how a theatre works, maybe the start of a potential new career or simply a fun way to give back to the community. This is a very social role and you will be interacting with hundreds of people each shift.

As a member of our team you will be able to apply for 2 free tickets for selected performances (depending on availability) to bring a friend along to enjoy a performance and then all we ask is that you fill in our feedback form to tell us about your experience as an audience member.
